LAKEWAY, Texas (KXAN) — Fire crews are assessing a fire that left a Lakeway home completely destroyed early on a rainy Wednesday morning. The fire broke out at 1503 Graveyard Point Road at 5:18 a.m. That’s near Lakeway City Park.

Everyone made it out of the home safely before the roof collapsed. Fire crews were able to rescue the family’s dog. Crews worked their way from the outside in to fight the fire, which was contained by 6:20 a.m. Crews say the home suffered extensive damage. According to the Lake Travis Fire Rescue, firefighters had to pull an extra 2,000 feet of large water supply hoses due to the home wasn’t close to a fire hydrant. One of the water lines seemed to be bursting amid the fire fight.

Lake Travis and Oak Hill fire departments all responded to help put out the blaze. The Travis County Sheriff’s Office was also out there.

This is one of two fires that had Lake Travis Fire Rescue busy Wednesday morning. The other fire broke out at 13434 Shore Vista Drive. The fire happened in a detached garage, which then extended into the home. The house was under construction and was unoccupied. That fire is under control.

Both fires remain under investigation but appear unrelated.
