Man robs Chase Bank in Central Austin

AUSTIN (KXAN) — Police are looking for a man who robbed a bank in Central Austin on Monday afternoon. The robbery happened at the Chase Bank on I-35 near 51st Street. Police say a man entered the bank at 4:30 p.m. and demanded money from a teller.

The suspect did not show a weapon, and no one was injured. Police said the suspect took off walking and was able to get away with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The suspect was described as:

  • Black man with short black hair
  • Mid-20’s
  • Approx. 6’ tall
  • Wearing a red sweater and dark pants
