AUSTIN (KXAN) — Shave your head for a good cause! On Saturday, March 21st, Dell Children’s Medical Center will host its 10th St. Baldrick’s Fair and head-shaving event.

The annual event brings together people who are battling cancer, have battled cancer, are cancer survivors or who simply want to join in the fight to conquer kids’ cancer.

All money raised goes to childhood cancer research. If you would like to donate or shave your head, you can sign-up here.

Dr. Don Wells, Pediatric Hematologist/Oncologist with the Children’s Blood & Cancer Center at Dell Children’s, says about 50 people usually shave their heads every year.

“The purpose is you get yours family and friends to donate in your honor for getting your head shaved,” said Wells. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
