LOS ANGELES (MEDIA GENERAL) – Worldwide rap superstar Iggy Azalea has tour dates planned for Austin, Michigan, Massachusetts and California starting in mid-April. Now, a report by The Wrap is questioning if that tour will take place.
The Wrap reports the tour is on “the verge of cancellation” because the famous singer is not responding to managers, and won’t promote the tour. Her stop at the Frank Erwin Center originally scheduled for May 24 has been pushed to Oct. 24. A release said it was due to “tour production delays.”
A post on Friday to Azalea’s Instagram page reads, “Until further notice Iggy’s Instagram will be run by management. Iggy is taking a break from social media.”
“The Great Escape Tour” has dates in 23 other cities around the country.
Azalea’s team and AEG Live, who is producing the tour, have not responded to the report. Sony Music wouldn’t comment on the issue.
