TAYLOR, Texas (KXAN) — A couple found dead in their Taylor home early Monday morning is believed to have died in a murder-suicide, according to Williamson County Sheriff’s Office.

Authorities believe 37-year-old Ryan Grace shot and killed his 43-year-old wife Jessica Grace and then turned the gun on himself. Ryan Grace had a 7-year-old child and Jessica Grace had a 15-year-old, but the two did not have children together.

Ryan’s dad found the bodies after receiving an “alarming” text message from Ryan.

Police believe marital problems might have played a part.

“Ryan was despondent about the way the way things were going with him and his wife and possibly other things,” said Capt. Fred Thomas with the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office.

Editor’s Note: The Williamson County Sheriff’s Office indicated Tuesday the couple had a 9-year-old child. This was not the case. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover. In order to comment here, you acknowledge you have read and agreed to our Terms of Service.
