Icy roads to blame for deadly 18-wheeler crash in Burnet

BURNET, Texas (KXAN)- A man is dead after not being able to avoid a collision with an 18-wheeler that lost control and slid sideways across Highway 29.

It happened around six Saturday morning in the 2100 block of East Hwy 29.

Burnet Police said 37-year-old Manuel Galindo-Camacho of Fredericksburg was unable to stop his Chevy Astro Van and hit the trailer of semi. Burnet Fire/EMS declared him dead at the scene.

The driver of the 18-wheeler was not injured.

Investigators said icy roads were to blame. The road was closed for several hours during the investigation.
