ROUND ROCK, Texas (KXAN) – A Round Rock teenager was charged with deadly conduct after he fired several shots at a vehicle he was chasing, according to an arrest affidavit.
Police say Charles Wiedenhoefer, 18, was with a small group of high school students near Great Oaks Elementary School about 12:30 a.m. Saturday when someone started throwing rocks at vehicles.
The teens left the area in their vehicles and the incident escalated when Wiedenhoefer started chasing the group in his truck, the document said. A witness told police he was driving next to Wiedenhoefer when he saw a muzzle flash and heard the gun fire four times.
Court documents say one of the teens called police saying his vehicle had been shot several times and that the truck Wiedenhoefer was driving ran him off the road.
When police showed up to Wiedenhoefer’s home, they reportedly found a Glock .40-caliber sitting in the truck in plain view. Police also found a .40-calliber bullet while searching the teen.
He was booked into the Williamson County Jail in lieu of $15,000 bond.
