Dripping Springs council opposes proposed concrete plant

DRIPPING SRPINGS, Texas (KXAN) — Families who live near a proposed concrete plant say they are glad city leaders joined their cause to stop it.

People living in Dripping Springs say they are prepared to take legal action to stop the plant from being built. They are worried the plant will give off harmful dust and pollution.

The Dripping Springs city council voted Tuesday to oppose the plant, but the resolution won’t do much. The final decision rests in the hands of the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality.

Neighbors and the Dripping Springs Independent School District have requested a public hearing from TCEQ, but they have not heard back.
