What would a chili cookoff be without music? The Neon Hearts add their own dash of girl power to the upcoming Chili Cold Blood Chili Cook-Off. In fact the Neon Hearts are the standing opening band for the event, and we were happy to have them in the studio to perform their song, Tornado. The Neon Hearts started in January 2013 as four young girls who wanted to play music together. With guidance from JP Ahmad, the owner of Franklin Music Academy, they quickly learned to play as a band, and even to write their own songs and “mashups” to popular songs. The White Horse learned of the Neon Hearts and invited them to be the opening act at his club for an upcoming HAAM benefit. The girls thrilled the crowd with their energy and their new song “MineCraft”; so much so that they are now invited back every year to be the opening act for The Chili Cold Blood Chili Cook-off and HAAM Benefit. The girls of the Neon Hearts are excited about making music and really love performing for their fans, so we can’t wait to see what the future holds for them. You can find more information about the Neon Hearts on their facebook page. The 9th Annual Chili Cold Blood Chili Cook-Off is Saturday, February 7th beginning at 3:30pm at The White Horse.
