AUSTIN (KXAN) — Fire crews quickly extinguished a house fire that displaced one person in North Austin on Sunday afternoon. Officials say a water heater malfunction caused the fire.

About 1:35 p.m., The Austin Fire Department received reports of a house on fire in the 4300 block of Flagstaff Drive. When firefighters arrived, they found flames coming from the attic. Crews extinguished the blaze within five minutes, according to a department spokesman.
