LUBBOCK, Texas (AP) — A fish store in West Texas has reopened after vandals shot into 10 aquariums and sent about 1,000 gallons of water gushing to the floor.
Officials with Mr. Aquarium in Lubbock report most of the fish were saved following the break-in that triggered a store alarm.
Lubbock police are trying to find who’s responsible for the $10,000 in vandalism early Saturday.
Kyle Howard with Mr. Aquarium says thieves shot through 10 tanks, stole cash and damaged equipment. The vandals apparently broke through a wall in the back of the store. Two employees responded to the alarm and saved most of the fish.
Lubbock police are trying to determine if the fish store damage is related to more than two dozen vehicles and other shops also found vandalized Saturday.
