LEANDER, Texas (KXAN) — A former Rouse High School teacher is facing more charges after a new accusation of an improper relationship with a teenage girl.
Joshua Riggins was charged earlier this week with sexually assaulting a girl who was babysitting for his family. He was placed on administrative leave when the allegations surfaced in October.
He is now facing a separate improper relationship charge tied to a different student. The girl’s name reportedly came up several times during an investigation into the other case. Detectives say Riggins met with the girl on three separate occasions, once at her house, and twice at his home during a break in the middle of the school day. The girl said their relationship started with Riggins sending her messages via Twitter, and ended after she graduated.
The World Geography teacher and freshman football coach faces one count of sexual assault of a child and two felony counts of improper relationship between an educator/student. Riggins resigned from his teaching job at Rouse High School after being charged.
