PU’ER CITY, China (NBC/CCTV VIA APTN) — Two black bears were seen playing on ice after a hailstorm on Monday at a national park in southwestern China. An animal protection observer at the park said he spotted the two bears playing on the icy ground of the park’s pavilion on Monday morning.

He said he was sure that one of the bears was wild. Seven black bears are known to be living in the national park, and the stranger may have come from an unknown habitat near the park. To everyone’s surprise, the strange bear got along well with other bears in the park. They didn’t fight for territory, as usually seen among different bear groups.

But the strange bear disappeared later, and park staff members failed to trace where it went. The park has continued to dispatch staff members to search for the bear to make sure it returns deep into the forest.
