Downtown stabbing suspects sought by Austin police

AUSTIN (KXAN) — Police are looking for three people suspected of stabbing a man near Sixth and Sabine streets in late December.

A woman flagged down police on Dec. 28 about 2:20 a.m. saying that three men began taunting her boyfriend and then attacked him. One of the men, she said, pulled out a knife and stabbed her boyfriend. He was taken to University Medical Center Brackenridge.

Detectives said this was a random attack, and there is concern the men will strike again if the “opportunity presented itself.”

The suspects were last seen running east on Sixth Street. Police released sketches of two of the men on Wednesday.

The witness described the three suspects as:

Suspect 1
White or Hispanic male (light complexion), 22-25 years of age, 5’5”, 160 lbs.

Suspect 2
White male, 22-25 years of age, 5’5”-5’7”, 150 lbs.

Suspect 3
Hispanic Male, 22-25 years of age, 5’7”-6’, heavy set, little facial hair (no sketch available)
