AUSTIN (KXAN) — Lake Travis Elementary School was briefly placed on lockdown Tuesday afternoon because of a report of suspicious activity, according to an alert sent to parents.

Campus officials said they received a report at 1:30 p.m. of a suspicious person at a back door interacting with a student. Police were called and the school was placed on lockdown.

Police determined the report was “completely untrue” and there was no suspicious person or a threat to students or staff. School officials did not say who made the initial threat.

The lockdown was lifted just after 2 p.m. and school resumed as normal.
