Dripping Springs ISD employee charged with indecency with child

DRIPPING SPRINGS, Texas (KXAN) – A 48-year-old man is in the Hays County Jail following his arrest on charges of indecency with a child by sexual contact.

Aureliano Lazcano Perez was arrested Sunday following allegations he inappropriately touched a 15-year-old girl in her home just before Christmas. According to court documents, Perez was working a side job as a housekeeper when the alleged incident occurred.

Perez’s full time job is in the Grounds Department at the Dripping Springs Independent School District, district officials told KXAN, but is not currently on duty.

“As a standard practice, Dripping Springs ISD conducts a criminal history search as required by law for all new employees,” said Dale Whitaker, a spokesperson for the school district. “Records show that Mr. Perez provided necessary documentation to show valid work status at the time he was hired.”

Perez is being held in lieu of $10,000 bond and an immigration hold.
