PFLUGERVILLE, Texas (KXAN) — Police charged a man with criminal mischief — a state jail felony — after they say he slashed several tires and damaged at least 11 cars in a Pflugerville neighborhood. Police showed up to a neighborhood north of Timmerman Elementary School on Friday after getting multiple calls about tires being punctured, an arrest affidavit said. When one homeowner went outside a little before midnight, the man walked toward him cussing, the document added.
An officer confronted Timothy Pratt, 27, on Evening Grosbeak Drive and found his hands covered in blood. Police also found several throwing knives during a search, according to the arrest affidavit, that were also covered in blood. Pratt reportedly told police he cut his hands on a couple rearview mirrors and from scratching vehicles with the knives.
“I jabbed them (tires) with my raptures,” Pratt told police, the document said. His reason to police for popping the tires was because they were illegal or brand new.
Along Parkview Drive and Greenbrook Parkway, police found several cars with their tires slashed. They also found several side mirrors that were destroyed and scratches along those same vehicles. The damages totaled more than $11,000, according to police.
Pratt is being held in the Travis County Jail on $5,000 bond.
