The Texas State men’s basketball team, led by second-year head coach Danny Kaspar, is off to its best start since the 1997-98 season; starting the year 9-5. The Bobcats have beaten preseason Sun Belt Conference favorite Georgia State on the road in what was the first of two consecutive double overtimes, 77-74. The Bobcats are top-20 in the country defensively, allowing just 57.1 points per game.

The Texas State women’s basketball team is coming off of its first postseason appearance since 2008 with an invitation to the 2014 Women’s Basketball Invitational Tournament. Junior guards Erin Peoples and Ayriel Anderson were selected by the SBC coaches to the All-SBC Preseason First and Third Teams, respectively. Texas State has opened the 2014-15 conference season with a 3-2 record.

In addition to Texas State sports KBVO is home to San Antonio Spurs basketball and the only station to bring Central Texas live High School Football coverage.
