Travis County sees six flu deaths so far this season

AUSTIN (KXAN) — Travis County health officials say we currently stand at six adult flu deaths.The last death happened a week ago, where the area had five confirmed influenza-associated deaths — all of which have been adults. Travis County had its first confirmed flu death of the season on Dec. 19, county health officials said. The person was over the age of 65, officials said, but it was unclear if that person had received a flu shot this year.

Travis County recorded 22 flu deaths — including three children — during the last flu season.
