Special Texas House District 17 election set for Tuesday

AUSTIN (KXAN) – Voters in Bastrop, Caldwell, Gonzales, Karnes and Lee Counties will elect a new representative to the Texas House of Representatives in a special election Tuesday.

Current Rep. Tim Kleinschmidt took a job as the General Counsel for the Texas Department of Agriculture and resigned his post in accordance with Texas law.
