AUSTIN (KXAN) — An Oklahoma man accused of sexually assaulting a family member was arrested Monday in Austin. Booth Dean Freeman Jr., 55, was taken into custody at a motel in the 4700 block of South Congress by the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force.
Freeman, of Davidson, Oklahoma, previously spent two years in a Texas prison after being convicted for indecent acts with a child. He was released to parole supervision in 2013.
Oklahoma authorities say he fled the state in December after being charged in Tillman County with raping a child under the age of 14. US Marshals based in Oklahoma City alerted Texas authorities that Freeman was in Austin, and when officers located Freeman at the motel he was taken into custody.
Freeman is being held in Travis County pending his extradition back to Oklahoma.
