Woman injured after car crashes into Kyle store

KYLE, Texas (KXAN) — A 58-year-old woman was injured Wednesday afternoon when a car crashed into a Texas State Optical store in Kyle, police said. The woman was inside the store when the car hit her. She was taken to Seton Medical Center in Kyle, but the extent of her injuries were unknown.

The crash happened about 3:20 p.m. near the HEB at 5401 FM 1626.

The 54-year-old man behind the wheel said his car started to “rev up” and his brakes were ineffective in stopping the vehicle. Police said he clipped two cars in the parking lot, jumped a curb, hit a sidewalk and ran into the store. He was shaken up, police said, but unhurt.
