AUSTIN (KXAN) – A 26-year-old man died early Tuesday after flipping his truck off of Highway 290 East between Elgin and cDade.
Emergency crews got the call around 5:15 a.m. The vehicle left the road, hit a fence and rolled over. Authorities say the driver, was not wearing a seat belt, was partially ejected from the truck.
Texas Department of Public Safety officials investigating the crash said the man was from McDade, headed to work in Elgin. They report he and his wife were expecting their third child.
The Bastrop County Sheriff’s Office was also called to help. Investigators are looking into whether fog or fatigue may have played a role in the wreck.
All lanes have since reopened to traffic in the area.
