Austin man charged in Michigan for stalking teen

MT. PLEASANT, MICH. (KXAN) — An Austin man is facing several charges after authorities in Michigan said he drove there to meet a 14-year-old girl he had been texting and talking with on the Internet since she was 12.

Over the past year, the Isabella County Sheriff’s Department said the conversations between 27-year-old Glen Stephen Timberlake and the girl became sexual. Police said he sent four sexually explicit videos to the girl, and that one of the videos included a dog.

Timberlake was carrying a large knife in his pocket when he was arrested and told police he had it because he “wanted to get some answers,” according to a release from the sheriff’s department.

“At that point he wanted to talk to a lawyer and he wouldn’t communicate anymore with the deputy,” said Sheriff Leo Mioduszewski.

The two met while playing Minecraft, and Austin police officers reportedly met with Timberlake earlier this year and told him to stop contacting the girl, the Isabella County Sheriff’s Office said.

He was arrested on charges of accosting a child, using a computer to accost a minor, indecent exposure, stalking a minor and carrying a concealed weapon. Timberlake is being held in the Isabella County Jail on $700,000 bond.
