“This is the best Christmas gift anyone could give us,” said League in a statement. “We, both distributors and exhibitors, have collectively stood firm to our principles and for the right to freedom of expression.”
Sony also released the movie online on Christmas Eve via Google Play, YouTube Movies, Microsoft’s Xbox Video, and the website seetheinterview.com. Rentals cost $5.99, and the film can be purchased at $14.99.
