Lexington principal dies after fall

LEXINGTON, Texas (KXAN) – Hollee Muhl, The 33-year-old Principal at Lexington Middle School, died following an accidental fall Sunday, Lexington ISD announced Monday.

“Ms. Muhl has been an exceptional leader and is much loved not only by the middle school faculty and student body, but the entire Lexington Community. Please keep Coach Muhl and her family in your prayers,” the district said in the announcement.

Students held a candlelight vigil outside the middle school Sunday night.

To be honest I do believe God has a plan for everybody and this might not have been her time to go for us, but maybe for him

Muhl was married to Lexington ISD athletic director and head high school football coach, Kirk Muhl, who is now left to care for their four children.

“He always told us no matter what life throws at you, you just gotta keep on going,” said Samuel Meza, a senior football player at Lexington High School. “I always look at him as a father figure so my father’s hurting right now.”

A memorial service for Muhl will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 23 at 6 p.m. at First Baptist Church Lexington Youth Activity Center.

Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, Dec. 26 at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church in Waco.

Information about funds for the family is available on the district’s website.
