AUSTIN (KXAN) — As the saying goes, “All good things must come to an end.” And Sunday night, the Trail of Lights came to its close at Zilker Park.
In its 50th year, the event couldn’t have been a bigger hit. Huge crowds came out Sunday night. It was the last chance for people to take a stroll through the lights.
“It was great,” said Adria Bartek. “This is actually our first year out as a family, so it was nice.”
Bringing families together, and giving friends moments to cherish.
“Three …Two …One,” said Ronny Michael as he snapped a picture of his family with their close friends under a tunnel of lights.
“We all moved to Austin about the same time; about 18 years ago,” he said. “And now we come to [my friend’s] house and we stay and we walk [to the trail.] We haven’t missed it in 18 years.”
This holiday season many of you shared you special moments at the Trail of Lights with KXAN for our photo contest. If a picture’s worth a thousand words, the smiles at the Trail of Lights tell it all.
“Would not be Christmas without it,” said Michael.
Until next year!
