Police kill Houston bank robber

HOUSTON (AP) — Houston police say an armored car security guard has fatally shot a robbery suspect who flashed a gun outside a bank.

Police say the armed suspect was killed Friday morning while trying to steal cash as an ATM was being filled.

The armored car was parked outside of a Bank of America branch. The attempted robbery happened in the drive-thru area.

Authorities say the suspect confronted a guard and demanded money before being shot. He was dead at the scene. His name hasn’t been released.

A handgun believed used by the suspect was recovered.
