If you or someone you love suffers from diabetes, a change in your approach to health could yield amazing results. We also had a chance to speak with a patient of Dr. Trevor Botts and learned about the patient’s major turn around in health. If you have diabetes and continue to suffer with ill health related to it, if you are sick of being prescribed yet another drug, if you are seeing your life basically boil down to a daily struggle just to get through, then you may benefit from some of the services from Inspire Wellness.
3 Lifestyle Tips for Diabetes:
- Never skip meals. Never go hungry. Low blood sugar is just as devastating to a diabetic’s health as high blood sugar, because it creates a rebound effect. Your body sends out starvation signals that will lead to fat storage and will put more stress on the sugar regulating system of the body.
- Go for a walk after eating. Light exercise within 1 hour of eating helps jump start your metabolism and drive sugar out of the blood and into your cells.
- Cut the Carbs. The American Diabetes Association recommends more carbohydrates in one meal than I will typically recommend in an entire day. Carbs turn into sugar in the body. Period. It doesn’t matter if it’s a carb from candy corn or corn on the cob. In fact, one slice of many breads will raise blood sugar more than a candy bar.
