AUSTIN (KXAN) — Police in Minnesota arrested an 18-year-old woman in the stabbing death of a man in North Austin. Police were called to the home in the 8500 block of Georgian Drive on Nov. 20 after a caller reported hearing someone scream for help.
Officers found 26-year-old Mohammedali Omer lying in the curb with several stab wounds. Omer was taken to University Medical Center Brackenridge where he later died.
A cellphone near Omer’s body led them to Susie Lynn Merrill, police said, but she denied having any involvement in his death.
According to an arrest affidavit, Merrill told several people that Omer tried to rape her so she stabbed him. One witness said Merrill, who she also knew as ‘China’, was bragging about the stabbing, even asking if it was “wrong that she had enjoyed it.”
Merrill was arrested Tuesday at a Minneapolis bus station by US Marshals. Investigators believe she was on her way to Wisconsin where she has family. She has been charged with first degree murder and her bond was set at $100,000.
