DWI Offender Program benefits Coats for Kids

AUSTIN (KXAN) — A court-ordered DWI program is having an impact beyond simple punishment for offenders.

Travis County Judge Elisabeth Earle stopped by the KXAN Studios Tuesday morning and talked about the DWI court program she’s developed for repeat offenders. They commit to intensive outpatient therapy and updates to the court, but also have regular meetings together and support each other.

This particular group decided to above and beyond the court mandates and start a donation drive for Coats for Kids. They set a goal of 600 coats and achieved it.
