AUSTIN (KXAN) — Bibbidi-bobbidi-boo! Like magic, THE Disney classic “Cinderella” is making its way to the big screen – what IMDB is calling “a live-action retelling of the classic fairytale about a servant stepdaughter who wins the heart of a prince.” While there have been numerous Cinderella movies and spinoffs made – including “Ever After” with Drew Barrymore or Rodgers & Hammerstein’s made-for-TV movie featuring 90s music star Brandy Norwood and Whitney Houston – this one is coming from princess fairytale megaplayer Disney itself.

Surprisingly, the movie isn’t packing an A-list punch — with the exception of Cate Blanchett, who plays the evil stepmother “Lady Tremaine.” Lily James plays “Cinderella,” an actress whom you may recognize from 2012 movie “Wrath of the Titans.” Another familiar face is Helena Bonham Carter, who plays the fairy godmother. Carter’s been in the “Harry Potter” series movies, “Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street” and “Alice in Wonderland.”

The excitement is clear. The trailer has gone viral online, with over 3.5 million views in less than a day. Good luck getting away from the news – and the trailer – on your social feeds.
