I-35 closed in North Austin after fuel spill

AUSTIN (KXAN) — Austin police closed southbound Interstate 35 from Rundberg Lane to 51st Street for several hours after a crash involving two 18-wheelers and another vehicle. A fuel spill closed lanes along the freeway for more than two hours.

The crash happened about 7 p.m., and resulted in one minor injury.

Traffic was diverted onto the frontage road at St. Johns Avenue, but the backup on the interstate stretched for several miles.
