AUSTIN (KXAN) — A car crash into Furniture in the Raw caused some hefty damages. It happened at 1 p.m. Wednesday, when owner Harriet Greenlee says an 80-year-old woman came plowing into the storefront window at the furniture store at 7713 Burnet Road.

The driver told store associates she was parking her car when she accidentally stepped on the gas pedal instead of the brake, catapulting her into the store. Greenlee says the accident caused roughly $25,000 in damages to the store’s inventory. Structural damages have not yet been accounted for, says Greenlee. No one was injured in the accident.

“Everyone is fine, but very, very close calls both inside and outside the store,” said Greenlee. “Several customers had just walked past the sidewalk and inside the showroom. No one was in front, luckily.”

The store window has since been boarded up, and business resumed as usual. Greenlee says the furniture they lost has been moved to the warehouse.

Greenlee says she was three minutes away from the store when the incident happened and rolled up to the store to find the aftermath.

Greenlee says the driver’s insurance will likely cover all the damages.
