BEAUMONT, Texas (AP) — Several homes and businesses have been raided in a crackdown on suspected illegal gambling in Southeast Texas. Police in Beaumont and Port Arthur were joined by the FBI in the raids Wednesday night. Officials say six locations in Beaumont were searched, along with one business in Port Arthur, in the investigation that began four months ago.
Investigators didn’t immediately say what type of gambling allegedly was involved. The raids included game rooms and gift shops. Authorities didn’t immediately announce any arrests.
