BASTROP, Texas (KXAN) — Workers and cleanup crews are working around the clock to clean and entirely restock the H-E-B store in Bastrop after a fire broke out inside the store on Tuesday. A spokesperson said the store was evacuated shortly after 9 p.m. and no one was injured.
Police said the fire started in an area the area was under construction.
Smoke and water damage has kept the store closed. However, the store’s drive-thru pharmacy window has reopened.
H-E-B hopes to reopen the store early next week, and updates will be added to this page, the spokesperson said.
