Water line repairs prompt North Lamar lane closure

(Frank Martinez / KXAN)

AUSTIN (KXAN) – A lane closure on North Lamar could affect your commute through Central Austin this week.

Austin Water will close the outside, southbound lane of North Lamar Blvd. between 41st and 43rd streets starting Sunday evening as crews repair a 20-inch water line. The work should be complete by Thursday, October 30.

Motorists will not be able to turn onto 42nd Street from Lamar Blvd., but it will still be accessible from Marathon Blvd. Austin Water asks drivers to follow all traffic control signs in the area of the closure.

Austin traffic expert Amanda Dugan can help you avoid the gridlock weekday mornings from 4:30-9 on KXAN News Today. You can also click here for current traffic conditions.
