Two-vehicle crash leaves one dead, one injured


AUSTIN (KXAN)- An overnight crash between two vehicles on Highway 71 left one man dead and two others in the hospital.

It happened shortly before 1 a.m. Saturday near the Travis-Burnet County line in the 26000 block of West SH-71.

DPS says 32-year-old Bradley Thiebe was driving a 1997 Saturn westbound when he collided with a trailer being hauled by a 2006 Dodge Ram truck. Medics declared Thiebe dead on the scene.

Medics transported a 52-year-old man in the Saturn to University Medical Center Brackenridge with serious injuries. He is now listed in stable condition.

The driver of the truck was taken to Lakeway Hospital and is expected to be alright.
