Texas Department of Transportation crews, Austin police and Highway Emergency Response crews responded to make fixes and to help drivers with flat tires. APD reported a similar situation via Twitter on Monday night. A spokesperson for the Highway Emergency Roadside Assistance says that the wear-and-tear on area roads sometimes cause these things happen.

“Concrete is concrete. It’s going to crack. Once that cracks on two ends, and it’s going to pop out and become a hazard,” said the spokesperson.

It took crews about two hours to make the repairs. If you come across a pothole on your commute 311 is the number to call.
