Austin sex assault suspect captured after 10 years

Noe Ramirez-Mendoza

AUSTIN (KXAN) — A man wanted on charges of aggravated sexual assault of a child stemming from a 2004 incident was arrested Thursday in Southeast Austin. Noe Ramirez-Mendoza was taken into custody by Lone Star Fugitive Task Force members at the Tejas Mobile Plaza without incident.

The 27-year-old fled to Mexico in 2004 after he was accused of sexually assaulting a child on more than one occasion. Authorities recently discovered he had been traveling frequently from Mexico to the Austin area before his arrest.

He was booked into the Travis County jail where he is being held on $10,000 bond. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
