HAYS COUNTY, Texas (KXAN) — One of the drivers involved in Monday night’s deadly crash along FM 1626 near Eagle Nest Drive is facing an intoxication manslaughter charge. The Hays County Sheriff’s Office said Jason Tarr, 37, faces the charge following the death of 60-year-old Nancy Sterling-Dalton. Deputies were called to the two-car crash just before 8 p.m.

Tarr was driving south along FM 1626 in a Ford F150 when police say witnesses observed the truck weaving onto the shoulder and crossing the center line. His truck crashed head-on into Sterling-Dalton’s car. She died at the scene. Tarr was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

Police say a warrant was obtained and a blood sample was taken after they discovered he was intoxicated.

Tarr had been previously been charged with driving drunk in 2002 and 2005.
