Nephew accused of setting aunt’s house on fire

AUSTIN (KXAN) — Firefighters say an argument between aunt and nephew led to an arson fire around 9:20 a.m. Tuesday at 13129 Mill Stone Drive. Investigators responded after taking a 911 call from a woman who claimed her nephew had set her house on fire.

When firefighters arrived, they rescued the woman from a second-story bedroom using a ladder. The fire itself was very small, according to Austin Fire Department, and had already been put out by an Austin police officer before fire crews got there. Only $250 worth of damage was done, but the nephew as charged with first-degree arson. An investigator said the nephew, who lived at the home, argued about having to go to school.
