PFLUGERVILLE, Texas (KXAN) — A fire at Connally High School has school delayed by two hours for students and one hour for staff. The overnight fire impacted a small number of classrooms, according to Pflugerville Independent School District spokeswoman Amanda Brim.
“Connally High School will be on a two-hour delay this morning as the result of a small fire overnight in a science lab,” said Brim. “All buses will run two hours later than normal times, and the campus will be on a modified class schedule throughout the day.”
Fire investigators are looking into the cause of an early morning fire at Connally High School. The small blaze started inside the cabinet of the chemistry lab on the second floor Tuesday around 1:15 a.m.
The Austin Fire Department helped Pflugerville crews quickly put out the fire. Firefighters were able to keep it contained to the cabinet.
Fire investigators were called out to figure out what caused the fire. That is still under investigation, but there were no reported injuries.
Meanwhile, there was an estimated $2,000 in damages to the building and $200 in damages to contents.
