AUSTIN (KXAN) — Several people kicked off their Tuesday with coffee and some jams, all the while raising money for musicians in the Austin area.
The ninth annual Health Alliance for Austin Musicians, or HAAM, Benefit Day started at 6 a.m. at Whole Foods Downtown. More than 150 bands will perform at various locations throughout the Austin area.
HAAM Benefit Day is an all-day event to help raise money and awareness for affordable healthcare services for professional musicians. Area businesses pledge five percent of the days’ proceeds or make cash donations. Last year, the organization raised $350,000.
