ROUND ROCK, Texas (KXAN) — In Round Rock, the city has a new way to get people on board with higher tax bills. The city produced a lighthearted infomercial-style video talking about how the city lowered the tax rate by about half a cent.
But with home prices up in Round Rock, the typical homeowner will pay about $62 more each year. A city spokesman says sales tax revenue helps keep property taxes down.
The Round Rock City Council will vote on the budget at its meetings on Thursday and Sept. 25.
