AUSTIN (KXAN) — Capital Metro says someone hacked into their network, but no personal or credit card information was taken.
Officials with the company said they reached out to a network security forensics firm to perform an investigation after the breach. CapMetro officials said all credit card transactions are encrypted, adding that they do not store any credit card information on their systems. The mobile ticketing app runs outside of CapMetro’s network and the breach had no impact on those transactions, a spokesperson added.
Still, the company says they are taking additional steps to add additional levels of security to their network to prevent further attacks.
