Dollar General in Del Valle catches fire

DEL VALLE, Texas (KXAN) — A fire that ripped through the Dollar General on Ross Road in Del Valle on Wednesday evening is now under control.

The fire started just before 7 p.m. and within 15 minutes, emergency crews upgraded to a second alarm for extra assistance.Even though the fire was out within one hour, authorities said the rest of the evening will be dedicated to overhaul.

No one was injured in the fire. Ken Bailey, Fire Chief for Travis County Fire and Rescue said the store was open when the fire started inside the store. The Travis County Fire Marshal is currently working on determining what caused the fire.

A total of 70 firefighters from various fire departments helped fight the fire.
