Behind the scenes at the Long Center

Free performances and all access pass to the performing arts center

The Long Center for the Performing Arts (Kate Weidaw, KXAN).

On Sunday, August 31 the Long Performing Arts Center opens its doors to the public for a behind the scenes look inside.

The performing arts center will for the first time ever be offering public tours and have all of the backstage areas open so that interested people can see what it takes to put on their various performances throughout the year.

Backstage areas as well as star dressing rooms and the green rooms will be open to the public.

There will be live performances by some of the founding resident companies such as the Austin Ballet.

There is also a kids area and food trucks set up.

Entry to the event is free.
