Baby born at Williamson County courthouse

GEORGETOWN, Texas (KXAN) – Firefighters and paramedics jumped into action last week when it was clear there was no time to rush a laboring mommy-to-be to the hospital. Instead, she gave birth in the women’s restroom at the Williamson County Justice Center.

Baby Kingston Alexander Powell was born at 2:19 p.m. Aug. 19. Mother and baby were taken to the hospital following the delivery. Both are healthy and doing well.

Tuesday, the County Council recognized the firefighters and paramedics along with the happy parents. Georgetown Fire Chief John Sullivan presented the Stork Award to the emergency crews.
