Antimicrobial scrubs have built-in protection for nurses

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (NBC/KSHB) — Some Kansas City-area nursing students are sporting new scrubs that also protect them. Park University is the first in the Midwest to use the antimicrobial uniform.

The Kansas City-based company that makes them weaves antibacterial material right into the fabric. The scrubs are also durable and breathable to help nurses get through their long shifts.

The president of the company actually got the idea from his daughter after she graduated from nursing school at Kansas University.
